Goodbye and Hello!

On the 25th July we had our final rehearsal before our opening night of the hugely successful Monty Python's Spamalot! Now it's the 25th August and preparations are starting to take place for next years show.... there's no rest for the wicked! (that's not a hint by the way, we are definitely not going to be performing Wicked next year... or are we?!... No. We're not.)

The YG committee will be meeting next week, on Sunday 4th September, to discuss next years production; we promise to release 2017 information very very soon.

It's all change with the committee for 2017; we are very saddened to be saying goodbye to Kellan Frankland and Sue Morant.

Kellan has been a cast member ever since she was old enough to join! Her enthusiasm and passion for the performing arts is wonderful and her commitment to the Young Generation is to be admired. Kellan has been a fabulous member of the YG committee for the past few years and is actually the reason we performed Spamalot! this year; she did her research and found that the rights were available for amateur performers so we snapped it up! We wish her all the best as she moves on to pastures new. Thank you so much for being a delightful cast member and an invaluable committee member Kellan!

Sue became involved with YG 15 years ago when she volunteered to take on the role of Secretary. She has since handed that role over to Catherine Chevill (who does a grand job!) and instead has focused her time on publicity, chaperoning and make-up. Sue, and our Administrator Naomi, are also on the committee for Pink Wig Events, a local fundraising group who raise money and awareness for breast cancer locally by supporting the Cornwall Breast Care Team and nationally by supporting Breast Cancer Now. The ladies night has grown and grown since it's conception in 2009; this year saw an attendance of 800 women in pink wigs! Sue will be taking a step back from Young Generation in 2017 as she focuses her time and attention on Pink Wig Events as well as other family commitments. We wish her all the best and thank her from the bottom of our hearts for all the time, effort and love she has put into the Young Generation over the last 15 years.

We're very sad to be saying goodbye to two of our cherished committee members but we are also very excited to welcome along two more!

Jack Pentecost and Ethan King will be joining the YG Committee from 4th September after being voted in by their fellow cast members. We are certain that they will be an excellent addition to our little team and look forward to hearing their ideas for 2017.

So it's goodbye to Kellan and Sue and hello to Jack and Ethan!

Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open, or your eyes open and your ears peeled, whichever works for you... we'll be announcing next years production very soon!
