Hairspray - Information
We would like to say a HUGE congratulations to all our cast members who passed through the auditions to join our production of Hairspray!
We had over 70 auditions take place which meant that there were essentially two people auditioning for every one space on stage. The talent at this years auditions was phenomenal which made the job of casting the show EXTREMELY difficult!
We're so very sorry to have had to turn away so many young people but we do hope that you will come and watch our performance this summer and join us again next January to rehearse for our 2018 production... whatever that may be!
We have some important information for our 2017 cast members, please make sure you read the below:
SUBS:
Subs are £40 per person.
This cost covers you from the first rehearsal after auditions right through the to the last night of the performance so it really is a bargain deal!
Please bring cheque made payable to Young Generation or give cash to Catherine Chevill.
We are hoping to soon have a PayPal button on the website so that you can pay with a debit/credit card but for the meantime cheque or cash will have to do!
SCRIPTS:
If you require a script then please bring a deposit of £25 with you to the next rehearsal. The deposit will allow you to take your script home and look after it like a small child. You will receive the deposit back once you have handed us your script at the end of the rehearsal period in July.
Cast are reminded that NO PEN is allowed to be used for marking, pencil only! Naomi will hunt you down if there are any markings left it any of the scripts, you have been warned!
PHOTOGRAPH CONSENT:
Nearer to the show we have some fabulous publicity photos taken. These appear in places such as the programme, the Facebook page, the website and publicity boards throughout Falmouth town.
We also regularly take photos at rehearsals for our social media pages or for the website.
All children will need consent from an adult allowing us to use any image that they appear in for publicity purposes. Please sign the photo consent form and hand back to Catherine at the earliest opportunity.
HOLIDAY/UNAVAILABILITY:
We understand that you may not be able to attend all rehearsals due to family commitments or holidays. We ask that you please let us know of any unavailable dates as soon as possible so that we are able to work out a rehearsal schedule. This is particularly important for the Tuesday rehearsals that start after Easter.
If too many rehearsals are missed then we may ask that you do not take part in Hairspray... and we really don't want that to happen!
We ask that no holiday is taken from July as this is such a crucial rehearsal period.
...obviously no holidays during the performance week either!
DATES:
Rehearsals will be held every Thursday.
Additional rehearsals will be held every Tuesday after Easter - note that not all cast members will be required.
There will be a technical rehearsal and run through at The Poly on Sunday 30th July.
Dress Rehearsal will be on Monday 31st July.
The performance opens on Tuesday 1st August and runs each night until Saturday 5th August inclusive.
